Ching-Yi Lin Joins Faculty at Montgomery College at Silver Spring/Takoma Park

In January 2025, Lin has accepted a position at Montgomery College as a Faculty in the field of Music and Piano in the Visual and Performing Arts department.


Winner of the 26th Annual Celebration of the Arts

The 2023 Celebration of the Arts was a terrific success! Guests enjoyed fine food and drink provided by area restaurants, bid on stunning artwork created by local artists in the Art Auction, and were impressed by the incredible performances Rising Star Performing Arts Competition.

As the evening drew to a close, the Celebration audience cast their votes for their favorite performance, selecting pianist Ching-Yi Lin as the 2023 Rising Star for his performance of Six Moments Musicaux, Op. 16 IV. Presto by Sergei Rachmaninoff. Congratulations to Ching-Yi and all of our amazing finalists.  Ching-Yi serves as a faculty associate at the Peabody Institute of Johns Hopkins University, where he is also currently finishing his Doctor of Musical Arts degree as a recipient of the Richard Franko Goldman Prize in Performance under the tutelage of Alexander Shtarkman.


Ching-Yi Lin Awarded Second Prize at Texas State International Piano Competition

DMA candidate in piano performance Ching-Yi Lin was awarded second prize at the Texas State International Piano Competition and performed Prokofiev’s Piano Concerto No. 3 with the Central Texas Philharmonic.


Third Prize of Marbella International Piano Competition

Doctoral candidate Ching-Yi Lin, piano, won third prize in the Fifth Marbella International Music Competition, which was held in Malaga, Spain. He has won the opportunity to perform a recital in Spain next year and a cash prize. Lin is in the studio of Alexander Shtarkman.
